31 Tasting Notes
Bought this today from local Lidl. Don’t have high expectations, but…
Yes, this smells like good Darjeeling should. But wow, this is very plain tasting. Doesn’t taste anything. This needs either sugar or milk.
After adding sugar, this is much better. This tea doesn’t go high in my ranks, but its cheap, Fair Trade and Organic. Maybe honey would also add some taste to this.
Preparation
This has interesting smell, smoky and sweet. This almost smells like tobacco, but more floral. Taste is hard to describe, but its smoky and fruity. Rather strong taste for green tea. Unlike other green teas, this needs boiling water.
Preparation
My old rooibos bag ran out, so I decided to buy bit different. This is rooibos, with chamomile and rosehip-oil. I noticed that they get stuck in my teeli-filter, cleaning it takes some time.
Dry leaves smell very sweet, and there is some chamomile visible. It tastes sweet, but its missing the “fruitiness” of teekauppa.fi rooibos. Chamomile doesn’t contribute much to taste, neither do rosehip. Maybe next time I use 2 teaspoons, instead of 1.
Preparation
Smells like coconut and vanilla. Let me say this, I don’t like vanilla, and coconut is very exotic for me. I’m very curious what is tastes like, but don’t have high expectations.
Bitterness jumps first, this may require very short steep time. I’m disappointed, too sweet and bitter.
Preparation
This is classic. 100% Kenyan and Assam black tea without any spices. A very rich tea, that suits well for early mornings and for afternoon tea. Slightly bitter and requires short steep time.
Nothing special, its just tea at its finest.
Preparation
So I’m smelling it while it cools, it smells lemon, definitively. Also, bergamot smells lightly too. Very pleasant smell, I could smell this for hours. There is also something else in smell, isn’t it orange? Yes, its orange. Interesting combination of lemon, bergamot and orange.
Taste is very pleasant too, I wouldn’t say Earl Grey, but this is something different. Good, this isn’t bitter. I don’t taste any Chinese tea in this, but this feels like it. Word I’m searching for is…
…Velvety! Very smooth, I like this, no bitterness at all.
Preparation
Best rooibos I have tasted. Taste and smell resembles rhubarb and slightly strawberries. It tastes sweet and intense, like summer. And its organic, and healthy! Everyone should try this. And remember to steep it long enough, it doesn’t go bitter no matter how long you steep it. And its naturally caffeine-free and rich in antioxidants.
