Another new Angelina’s Tea to try. And sadly, it’s the last day of fall break. Of course I never did my homework this whole time, so today will be spent doing homework, running errands and getting organized for the week. Yesterday was a fun day of shopping with the fiancee and having lunch. We also got started on our Halloween costumes, yay! Every year we always wait until the last minute and don’t have time to put together any thing really good. This year we’re more on top of it, and I am so excited. Come on, October 31st!

This tea smells wonderful, with a creamy vanilla scent and just a hint of nuttiness. The flavor is completely malty at first, with hardly any other flavors. I was able to coax out the vanilla and hazelnut with a little milk and sugar, and now its a perfectly rich cup of hazelnut and vanilla yuminess. I wanted to like this tea a little more, but it’s still not a bad cup. I’m looking forward to enjoying this tea on the upcoming chilly fall days!

This is one of the new teas from Angelina’s. I don’t know why, but when I read the description I started craving this tea. Maybe it’s the cold, rainy weather outside. Anyway, this tea is nice. I was expecting more of a creamy vanilla flavor, but it’s more of a milky caramel flavor. Very strong black tea base with a definite milkiness about it, like fresh milk had been added. I did add milk and sweetener, and it brought out some caramel hints. I think this will be a nice tea to enjoy on cold mornings this fall and winter!

Another tea that I am just not crazy about. It’s nice, but nothing too special in my opinion. It’s almost a little too tart. I’m going to keep a few bags of this one for the fiancee and the rest is up for grabs!

I’ve had a box of these teabags for a while now, and think that I’ve had maybe one cup. I’m just not impressed by this tea. It’s very bland, although if you like white teas this would probably be more enjoyable. The rest of this box is up for grabs if anyone wants it!

First cup of the day. I’ve been perusing Angelina Tea’s website while enjoying this cup. The fiancee is in Winston today for work and is going to stop by to pick up some teas from Angelina’s, and I’m so excited! I’ve been so good lately about not ordering any new teas (mainly because I’ve been too busy!) so this will be a little fall break celebration. The fiancee is excited too because he’s fallen in love with Angelina’s Blueberry Green tea and we’re all out. I tried not to go too crazy, but I am getting 5 new teas and the Maple Blueberry that I’ve been missing since using the last of it. I like Angelina’s since you can order just 1 ounce, which is perfect to try a tea and see if you like it. Plus their prices are the lowest I’ve seen for such good tea!

Ok, on to this tea. It used to be one of my favorites, but I’m not really loving this cup this morning. Maybe my tastes have outgrown this tea? I will always have fond memories of this tea, since we first discovered the brand on a trip to Wilmington at a really cute little restaurant after dinner. There is something a little off about the aroma from the teabag. It almost smells artificial. The tea itself has a nice nutty coconut and rich chocolate smell. The flavor is very strong and robust – almost coffee-like because it is so strong. There is a very light, fresh coconut aftertaste. It’s creamy with a little milk and sweetener added, and dulls the coffee-like flavors. This is a good tea, and I have a few teabags left, but I probably won’t be buying more of this one.

Afternoon tea time with a cup of this and a slice of orange cranberry bread. The weather has turned cold and rainy, and I’m thankful to be inside with a warm cup of tea. It’s almost that time of the year to start using the fireplace!

I’ll admit that I wasn’t expecting much out of this tea. Even when I opened the wrapper, I was about knocked over by the overwhelmingly strong, artificial orange scent. The tea itself had a malty aroma with a hint of juicy orange – much better! The flavor was a nice black tea base with a sweet orange finish. There is a fresh, juicy orange aftertaste that is dead-on with a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice. We went to the fair last weekend and had fresh orangeade, and this tea reminds me very much of that. It’s perfect with a little milk and sweetener. I am definitely going to check the next time I’m at the grocery store to see if they have some of this. It would be wonderful for a breakfast tea, and I’d love to surprise my fiancee with some of this since he loved the orangeade at the fair so much!

My new tea goal is to get through the big box of teabags that I have in our pantry. This one was on the top, and one that I’ve been meaning to try for a while. I believe this is from Serenity – thank you! The teabag smells nicely of bergamot, and the tea itself has more of a malty scent. The flavor is very robust and malty with a lemony finish and a soft bergamot aftertaste. It’s a very lightly flavored bergamot, rather than those EGs that are all in-your-face strong bergamot. Milk and sugar almost overwhelms the delicate flavor, but I added the tiniest bit of both. Overall, a very nice and relaxing cup.

First cup of the day. I was so excited to try this tea that I actually made a cup a few days ago, but did not like it at all. I’m trying it again and hoping that I enjoy this cup more. It smells very fruity – of peach and apricot, and there is a strong gingery aroma noticeable from the steeped tea. The flavor is mostly ginger – I can only taste a tiny amount of the fruitiness in the aftertaste. This tea isn’t terrible, and it would probably be good if I liked ginger more or if the peach or apricot flavors were a little stronger, but it’s a little too gingery for me. I’m glad that I got to try it though (thanks, Nicole!) and I will take the rest of this to my mom, who will probably love it.

I am officially on fall break! Yesterday was actually the first real day of my break, but I spent the day reading and napping. I think that I am just so worn out from my crazy day at the hospital on Thursday and my whole clinic group actually felt pretty poorly, so I think we’re all fighting off some kind of sickness.

Our little parakeet also passed away yesterday. I’ve had him for 5 years, and he came from the shelter as an adult, so we think he was probably older when we got him. He hadn’t had any outward signs of illness, just gradually was getting a little more quiet and losing a few more feathers than normal. He started chirping really strange yesterday and when my fiancee and I ran in there, he was on the bottom of his cage. We tried to pick him and sit him back on his perch, but he went right back to the bottom. Thankfully it was very quick and he didn’t seem to suffer terribly. Yesterday was the first day in weeks that my fiancee and I were both home at the same time, so I can’t help but feel like he was waiting for us all to be there with him. The dogs, cats, and my fiancee and I sat next to his cage so he wasn’t alone at the end. The house is unusually quiet this morning, and I’m missing his cheerful chirping already.

Today I have a nice and clean house to myself, so I plan to spend the day with my pups/kitties and read and drink tea. I also need to get half of my paperwork done for clinic so that I don’t have to worry about it on my actual days off (Monday and Tuesday). I’m going to savor every minute of this fall break!

It has been such a dreary, rainy day here today. I went to take my exam this morning and came home and crawled back in bed with my dog and foster kitty. I’m sleepy, and I’m hoping it’s the weather making me feel all tired and headachey, and not a cold or something. Next week is fall break, so I just have to make it through 3 more days – woo hoo!

A couple of years ago, my fiancee came home with a mug of this tea. One of his soccer colleagues makes it in his mug when the weather gets cold and they are coaching outside. He brought my boy a few teabags since he knows that we both like tea. I was amazed at how good it is for being a teabag and also caffeine-free. We keep a box on hand now for those times when we will feel like a spicy chai, but don’t want all of the caffeine late at night. There’s a slight creaminess to it too, from the vanilla flavor. We make this into lattes sometimes, with a little cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on top. Perfect rainy day tea!

We went to the fair last night. I felt guilty for leaving my studying, but I was going a little bleary-eyed and needed a break. Plus, it’s the fair, who can really say no to the fair!? We were actually supposed to go to some party at the coliseum, but when our good friends mentioned the fair we were all in! It was a perfect night – the weather was warm enough to wear a dress, but not so hot that it was miserable. We saw all of the animals, including the fancy show chickens, which I love. We got to pet all of the little lambs, and also the sweetest little baby bunny. The man tried to sell it to us, and for a minute I was worried because my fiancee looked on the verge of pulling out his wallet (even though I secretly would’ve loved to bring the little thing home!) The boys played a bunch of games, and I tried to toss the ping pong ball into the glass fishbowls to win a goldfish, but no luck. We went hungry on purpose and shared a funnel cake and pretzel. We also had a big glass of fresh orangeade, which was amazing! I want to try making it at home now. I’m already looking forward to next year’s fair!

This morning, it’s back to studying and finishing all of my paperwork from clinic, which is also due tomorrow. I had this little teabag on my counter and decided to try it. It was a really nice surprise that it is actually a wonderful cup of tea! It is everything that I like in a tea – malty and strong with a little sweetness. It has an incredibly smooth flavor with absolutely no bitterness at all, even after the 4.5 minute steeping. I added some sugar and it was perfect, so milk isn’t necessary (and it’s rare for me to feel that way about a tea). I am really loving this cup right now, and would definitely order more! I could see this being a go-to morning tea when I’m in a hurry, right alongside my PG Tips. Thank you, Nicole, for this one!
