Very very delicious, but very expensive. It carries a predominant vegital taste with a slight chocolaty (cacao) undertone. I love this tea more than most Greens, but I’m afraid its the only white tea I’ve owned/tasted.

If there is anyone out there, if anyone can hear me. I need recommendations on teas similar (or completely different), that are hopefully cheaper. I will repay you with my tea-llegiance, and a forever lasting Tea-lliance.

Just received this tea along with 5 other 15 gram satchels from Upton! My girlfriend and I decided to test this one out in tandem. I tried mine plain, while she added milk and sugar. Results are as follows:

Milk and Sugar turned the drink into a candied treat bringing out the bergamont flavors. While plain, one could admire the black tea taste itself which was interestingly Smokey.

Both were good, but I desired a middle path. Next day I did just that but chose to steep it a minute shorter to see what else I could taste. This process left me with the citrus notes. The more I drank it the more I could taste grapefruit.

So far so good, I particularly like how easy it is to taste the described flavors. All it takes is a little experimenting.

Just got 2oz based on everyones reviews, Especially JacquelineM’s. And I was surprised! I let it steep a little longer than 5 minutes, and the cup turned out, syrupy, oily, a consistency I would expect after I added lots of sugar. And It was reeeallly smooth, not bitter at all, something I would expect after adding milk! So from first impression, this tea doesn’t need any additions (but I’m excited to experimenting with it). Taste reminded me of PG tips, sort-of. Not usually a black tea drinker, so my description will expand as I have more time with this tea.

Oooohhh yeah, Just had a second go. Everything I expected from a Pi lo chun. The smokyness really stands out and you can taste the subtle fruity flavors.

I like this one a lottttt, rating just improved.

This is actually my first owned loose leaf tea, and I’ve probably consumed 4 ounces of the stuff to date. Unfortunately, of the countless cups I’ve created I can only remember 2-3 times where it actually tasted Amazing. As another reviewer noted, it’s inconsistent. At times it’ll be thick and spicy and at others it’ll just taste like sweet potato water.

Any idea for why this is? I’ve tried shaking up the contents, adding more tea, steeping hotter and steeping it longer.. but Its just a gamble. Maybe its going bad…

For the times the tea turned out perfect I give it good score, but if it was more consistent it could probably be in the 80-90 region.

Just got this one today. Based off of my love for their Pi Lo Chun (Green snail spring) I was also drawn in considering it was labeled “new” in their catalog and the “select quality” — whatever that means — in it’s description.

Right off the bat, I boil the water and steep it, time/temp/amount as directed. Unfortunately the tea came out with a strong metallic taste (no doubt from my tap) but I was able to detect a peachy flavor (other reviewers mentioned this for the Upton’s Green Snail Spring). Despite the overpowering metal flavor I still enjoyed it. Its light, the flavor is obviously complex and I’ll go into greater detail after a few other attempts (using water from a Britta filter perhaps).

Most notably was the smell when I first opened it, hard to describe, but it felt like it filled my nose with freshness.

I gave it an above average score because I like it, but this first experience is not enough to gauge it’s full potential.

So far my favorite Teavana tea. I remember when I first came in asking for their finest Chais. I smelt this tea and instantly put it on a pedestal. Unfortunately I left with another tea because the price seemed a bit too “steep.” Then come Christmas I bought it in bulk and have been drinking it almost daily.

Other notes are right to compare it to big red as there is a very strong cinnamon flavor, but the taste is more complicated then that. If I were you and found myself in a Teavana store, I would ask to have a whiff. It tastes like it smells, and it is Amazing.

I normally don’t put anything in it, and stick to the directions on the tin. It also tastes good with a little bit of sugar, and since it’s a white tea I’m not so paranoid of it staining my teeth.

Quite possibly my favorite green tea to date. I received this Green tea as part of a set from Upton Tea and almost exclusively drink it compared to the others (In regards to Greens). First infusion I’m certain I cooked the leaves with too hot of water revealing a very vegetal/smoky flavor, but it was still delicious. After having some time getting acquainted with this tea I found the flavor to be similar to sweet artichoke leaf dipped in butter with that smoky note!
