This my third LP tea of the day, and I’m still as excited about this one as I was about the first one. Strong the vanilla is, in this one (Yoda voice).

This is nice and smooth. Very calming. The cocoa notes remind me of the 2014 puerh by WP I drank yesterday and today. The peppermint is definitely there but not overpowering. The black tea base is very good too.

I added a teaspoon of cacao nibs to the second steep, but they didn’t really do much.

Overall, this is a good tea. I liked the cocoa vanilla taste and the refreshing peppermint.

I was just texting my friend and told her I got more tea today and she replied ,“Om nom nom nom. I’m turning into a tea maniac! You’re converting me :p.”

Peppermint Nom Nom everybody (stands. closes eyes. raises glass. sits down.).

Flavors: Cocoa, Mint, Vanilla

My first LP tea! I just got done with an online test for school, and midway through the test, the mailman delivered a box full of lots of LP teas and a bamboo container. I think it shipped in 2-3 days—Nice! Since the test was not timed, I decided to open a few of the teas and get a good “sniff.” Good idea! The bamboo container is very cool and well made. I put the Oolberry tea in there—It holds a little over an ounce of tea.

I’m drinking the first steep currently as I type. I’m interested to see if I can make a better cup of this because I made a dang good cup right now. The flavoring is very natural tasting. It’s well balanced. Neither flavor is overpowering whatsoever. I was scared that the bergamot would be too strong, but it wasn’t. The peach hits the tongue right away and the Bergamot finishes. It’s got a citrussy tang, and I like that. There’s no bitterness.

Okay, steep #2 findings: This ones a little sweeter and less tangy. It lost a little flavor, but not much. This is a pretty smooth tea, and the liqueur is a nice peachy amber.

Steep 3#: I probably steeped this one for 5-6 minutes, and it was actually STRONGER than steep #2. I’m wondering how many steeps I can get out of this. I’ll try for at least one more.

In conclusion, this is a very good tea. Well done, Andrew! I can tell a lot of time is put in to everything, so cheers!

On to Silver Jasmine.

Of the LP teas I’ve tried so far, this one was my favorite!

It’s definitely a good one! I picked a good one to start with. I got 4 really good steeps out of it. The 5th steep was still good, but dying a little.

Thanks for this one, LuckyMe! I’m drinking this at 8 PM and hoping I won’t regret it—I usually don’t drink 1st steeps this late. LuckyMe’s review on this was spot on. It’s like a roasty (slightly burnt) buttery popcorn. It makes me want to hit up a movie.

I should note that this is my first genmaicha and was excited to try it. It exceded my expectations. Great tea!

Tea Taste Comparison #1! The first thing that I thought of when I tried this tea was that it tasted a lot like W2T’s Poundcake. So, I decided to compare the two side by side. Here are my findings: I did not do a rinse. After the first two cups of each, I honestly found trouble finding a difference in taste. I found the same results after the third steep and fourth steeps. The color, taste, and aroma were pretty much identical. I’ll assume that that the rest of the steeps will be similar. For $7.50 a 100g cake, this was well worth the purchase. Like the Poundcake, it is creamy, slightly vegetal, smooth, sweet, and slightly fruity.

This tea is really solid. I was drinking with it with a friend whom I’m trying to get into tea, so I decided to do one of my favorite blacks. We were talking and all of a sudden he says, “I feel really relaxed…Like abnormally relaxed. Is that the tea?”

I laughed and said, “Yeup, that’s the tea!”

I proceded to give him some of my tea in hopes that he’ll get into it and share with his friends and family.

Tea is good!

drank Gunpowder Green by Numi Organic Tea
139 tasting notes

Thanks to LuckyMe for this one! This is the loose leaf.

It has some power. I had never had a gunpowder green before and was looking forward to trying one. It really reminds me of most bagged teas that I have had.

It is ashy, a bit bitter, astringent, and vegetal like a sauteed spinach. It’s the boldest green that I have had and definitely not the sweetest, though my first steep was maybe a little fruity because I steeped it light.

I wouldn’t buy it in bulk like numi usually sells it, but I would maybe buy an ounce or two in the future for drinking maybe once a month. Glad I got to try this because I had seen it on amazon for really cheap and was thinking about buying some.

drank Dragon Well by Valley of Tea
139 tasting notes

Thanks to LuckyMe for this tea!

I have heard great things about dragon well teas, and this one lived up to the expectation!

The flavor is great—coconut, pinapple, and later pistachio.

It was actually pretty similar to the last oolong I had by Eco-Cha, Shan Lin XI Hight Mountain.

Overall, this was a good tea.

drank Yunnan Golden Pu-erh Tea by Teavana

This is the first Teavana tea that I really enjoyed. Thanks to madametj for this one! I did a 20 second rinse. I learned why there is a rinse the hard way by drinking one of WP’s puer rinses. I was trying “to get my money’s worth.” LOL.

And after a few tries of drinking ripe Puer, I find myself enjoying it! It wasn’t my cup of tea at first, and I still have a long way to go in my enjoyment and understanding of ripe, but I’m getting there.

I’m not sure of the age on this tea, so my review will differ from others. This has no fishy taste, thankfully. The primary flavor is an earthy moss. It’s very sweet and smooth. The first steep was very malty and had a slight mollasses taste. The second steep has a bit of smoke and is less malty. The third steep was much like the second. I leave my note at that. I’ll finish the rest of the tea in the next couple of days.

I’m onto my third year of drinking loose leaf. It’s been an exciting last year, trying lots of different teas, and finding out which teas I like and don’t like.
