I had never heard of the East Indies Tea Company before, but this tea smelled so good that I just had to try it! Most chocolate-flavored teas are a letdown in the flavor department, but this one is rich and sweet and malty and smooth…it really does taste like a chocolate malt in tea form! Quite possible the best chocolate tea I’ve ever had.
Flavors: Chocolate, Malt

Another one of those fruity herbal blends where the hibiscus just takes over and ruins everything for me. Glad I didn’t purchase more! Putting the rest of my sample in the Here’s Hoping TTB in hopes that someone else will enjoy this more than I do.

This was the last tea I sampled before mailing the box on to skysamurai and it was a great way to end my tasting adventure! This is a smooth yet robust Chinese black tea with rich cocoa notes and a hint of lingering caramel sweetness. My sample re-steeped beautifully and I’m sad there was only enough left for one cup. Adding it to my wish list!

I can’t stand artificial cherry flavoring because it reminds me of the liquid cold medicine I took as a child. However, I recently discovered a cherry-flavored tea that I LOVE (Fava’s Cloud 9), so I decided to give this one a try. My mistake! This basically tastes like someone added Triaminic to a cup of black tea. I rarely pour out a cup of tea without finishing it, but no shame on this one!
Flavors: Artificial, Cherry

I do love a good coconut tea and this one didn’t disappoint! Lots of sweet, creamy coconut flavor on a nice smooth honeybush base. (I wish there were more herbal dessert teas made with honeybush instead of rooibos.) I think I’m keeping this one!
Flavors: Coconut, Cream, Sweet

I adore maple flavors in tea, so I had to give this one a try! Unfortunately, I think this sample must have been old and/or contaminated…the flavor was barely-there cinnamon with maybe the barest touch of maple on a flat black base. Withholding rating, since I don’t think I was tasting this tea at its best!
Flavors: Cinnamon, Maple Syrup

With a name like that, who could resist? Unfortunately, this one is nothing special. The woody rooibos base came through strongly with a layer of vanilla and not much else.
Flavors: Rooibos, Vanilla, Wood

I love a good fruity herbal tisane when it’s done well, but I do NOT like hibiscus and feel that its inclusion ruins the vast majority of teas in this category. This one was no exception. It did smell like rhubarb, but the flavor was mainly hibiscus with a hint of fruitiness and an unpleasantly sour aftertaste. Not a fan!
Flavors: Hibiscus, Rhubarb, Sour

Ooo, this is yummy! Rich and chocolatey with a hint of sweetness and a touch of astringency that keeps you going back for one more sip. Definitely wouldn’t mind having this one in my cupboard!

I don’t think I’ve ever had a really good pear-flavored tea, so I was curious to try this one. I found it pleasant, but lacking in a genuine pear taste. To me, this was more like an apple pie tea…heavy on the cinnamon with a fruity flavor that reminded me more of a baked apple than a pear. It’s good, but not what I was hoping for.
Flavors: Apple, Cinnamon, Fruity
