As much as I wanted to like this tea (I love pears and honey), I couldn’t convince myself that I did. My wife thought the honey was too pronounced. Overall this did not impress me as Mark’s best effort.

Not only a lovely scented tea, but delicious as well. Both my wife and I enjoyed this Congou very much.

This was an outstanding pouchong to me. I am fairly new to Pouchongs, so it may not be the best out there, but it certainly tasted wonderful to me.

The Juniper and grapefruit in this blend make it an amazingly refreshing iced tea. It has become my iced tea blend and I drink it all summer.

This is comfort tea at its best. Like sitting down to a warm bowl of rice pudding. I love this stuff.

Liking green gunpowder, I tried this black and was bowled over. It is currently one of my favourite teas. Unfortunately it has sold out and I don’t know when I’ll be able to get it again.

When I don’t know what tea others might like, or I can’t decide what I want, this is my go-to tea. It is a good all-round pleasant tea. Nice colour and wonderful aroma.

I read several of the reviews of this tea when I first joined Steepster and was truly surprised by how many people disliked it. It is one of my favourite flavoured teas. I like the cinnamon-spiciness and the addition of the rose….maybe it kind of reminds me of rose congou which I also like. Anyway, it is a nice “gramma’s” kind of tea.

I am old enough to remember the “Market Spice” tea craze of the seventies (which thankfully is over….I could barely walk into a store that sold tea without nearly gagging on the overwhelming clove-cinnamon-fake orange smell. This tea on the other hand has a wonderful citrus, woodsy and spicy quality without losing the tea flavour. It is my fall evening around the campfire tea.

Delicious buttery, minty, grassy flavour. Just what a good mint tea should taste like.

I am obsessed with tea, but refuse to be a “tea snob”. That does not mean that I am not picky about my tea, just that I think the arrogance of some tea drinkers is ridiculous and off-putting.

My favourite teas currently are: China Black Gunpowder, Pouchongs, Good old Brodies Royal Scottish Tea, and Martha’s hope first flush darjeeling.
