Technically this is more a pouchong than an oolong, but either way, it is a very nice tea. Great fruity and herbaceous notes.

Beautiful copper colour. Lovely smokiness.

Nice muscatel notes. Smooth and amber just the way a darjeeling should be.

I was a bit surprised by those who said that the apple was faint. I liked it precisely because it did not overtake the tea itself, which was very well rounded, slightly fruity and a bit astringent. The coriander made a nice grace note to the apple, and the aroma was heavenly from beginning to end. My wife also liked this tea very much. Glad to have it in my cupboard. It will be a very nice addition.

Beautiful when brewing. Wonderful scent of jasmine. The tea itself is great quality and the cup is inviting and tasty.

This does not have the body, nor flavour complexity that the China Black Gunpowder (which unfortunately is permanently out of stock) at Upton Tea had. Very disappointing.

Very drinkable with a nice peppery finish. My wife’s favourite everyday type of tea. A very good value tea.

I love the very faint apricot and fennel notes. Really good tea.

This actually does taste very similar to the tea blend used at the Sacher hotel. It is a wonderful Darjeeling blend with some Ceylon and a bit of bergamot. If you like a very mild Earl Grey, this would be a good fit as well.

I am obsessed with tea, but refuse to be a “tea snob”. That does not mean that I am not picky about my tea, just that I think the arrogance of some tea drinkers is ridiculous and off-putting.

My favourite teas currently are: China Black Gunpowder, Pouchongs, Good old Brodies Royal Scottish Tea, and Martha’s hope first flush darjeeling.
