523 Tasting Notes
Sorry for the lack of notes recently. I’m always here reading everyone else’s notes, but I don’t have so many new teas to review myself anymore. Last year was my tea-discovery year. I had to try everything. Now I’ve mostly narrowed down what I like and don’t like. I don’t need to add 20 new teas to every order anymore. I’ll always have to occasional free sample and I might add one or few new teas that look particularly interesting. I guess I’ll just have to start writing random “Hi! Im drinking tea today” notes for all the oldies, like this one. (^.^)
This tea comes and goes from my favorite list. I always like it, but sometimes its not my favorite green and sometimes I can’t get enough of it. Right now I tend to crave kukicha more often, but Im almost out of kukicha again, so I made a cup of the five peaks.
Yay, another yummy oolong to add to my list of favorites. Ive probably said it before, but I can’t believe I ever didn’t like green oolongs. It wasn’t because I had bad ones, I just had a complete change of taste preference a couple months into tea drinking (In February, it’ll be a year since I started loose leaf and steepster, yay!).
I wanted to sample the Anxi Tie juan yin also, but it appears that I got someone else’s samples. Oh well. Ill probably just order it next time anyway, which will be soon since I need a bigger bag of this now than the little 1/2oz that I got :p
Preparation
I was worried about not having ordered more Dinjoye Estate, relying on this new blend to fill its spot, but my worries were unnecessary. I love this new Irish breakfast blend. yay! Bold and malty. yummy :)
Preparation
Sipdown.
Good news is that the heat is working quite nicely on the second floor of the gym today. It’s the first day of classes and I was even more pleased to find it not as crowded as usual (I guess the students finally realized that new years resolutions aren’t going to work out, lol).
I debated ordering more of this tea last time I was ordering from Butiki, but I decided to go with the new Irish Breakfast blend instead. I haven’t received it yet, but I sure hope it is a suitable replacement until my next Butiki order.
My Arbor Teas order arrived yesterday and I brewed two cups of this oolong, but was too busy to log it then. It’s a very creamy oolong, not too heavy in the floral department. I’m rarely disappointed with Arbor teas, and this is yet another pleasurable cup of tea from this company.
I forgot to log this last time when I added the extra marshmallows and milk that I said i would try. As much as I loved the gooey marshmallows themselves, the additions did little to help the flavor of this tea. I wanted so much to love it because it smells so good, but the taste is too blah. Oh well.
Haha, welcome to the oldies click!
Congrats on making up your mind after only one year!!! It’s been 3 years in the making for me, still can’t seem to control myself on the «don’t need to add 20 new teas» part, haha! I have no excuses, I do know what my staples are, I’just can’t help it. But if you could do it, so can I right?? …eventually :-)
Yup, those if us that have written about almost every tea in our cupboards several times end up having to write about what we’re doing while drinking tea, our latest tea ware, or something! :D
Im sure Ill have periodic phases here and there, especially during sales. :)
There is no escape, Shelley!
Meanwhile, I could always send you a box of samples :)
really, is the next installment of my riveting tasting notes worth such generosity. . .or are you just trying to get rid of tea? 〈(゜。゜)
