Completely in love with Yunnan Gold teas – it never ceases to amaze me how much strength you can get out of a bunch of buds – brilliant.

Awesome.

Good darjeeling, will look forward to selecting from the 2009 second flush pickings in June – let’s see if Ambootia can keep up the quality!

I enjoy the balance created by the jasmine white tea – sometimes Earl Grey can be a bit rough, as though the bergamot is covering up for the tea somehow. My mother and I created this blend to ensure that the jasmine, the fresh green flavour, the bergamot and the black tea’s depth are nicely poised.

I just wrote a quick Haiku in honour of this tea:

Time to get up now;
Hug a mug of malty joy:
Assam tea.

Not my normal afternoon tea as I’m an orthodox tea junkie really, but I had some knocking around and wanted to remind myself what it was like and check the quality of the sample etc.
Definitely needs milk owing to the CTC, but long lasting aromatics floating around in the flavour too from the orthodox blended in, so it tastes of more than just strong tea. Sweet, malty finish, and solid dependable flavour

Prepared it in a Bodum glass teapot – love seeing the colour change as it brews.

Love a cup of this before bed in the evening, with a small spoonful of honey and a slosh of milk. Bliss.

It’s my every day cuppa, my “first cup of the day”, with a good dollop of milk and a touch of sugar which brings out the maltiness. Yum.
