1711 Tasting Notes
OMG I love this tea! After I bought it I lost it at my parent’s house and it just resurfaced. It is pretty EG on the sip, but that fades into a really nice passion fruit flavor at the end. It is such an interesting twist to EGs and I’m really bummed that Lupicia is discontinuing it. I only have 5 or so tea bags left. :(
Preparation
Hmmm, tasting a little bitter. Did I over steep?! Cream and sugar to the rescue! It’s much better now. Seems like a nice breakfast type tea. I think I can pick out a tiny bit of bergamot in the end of the sip. There are other breakfast type teas that I like better than this one, so I’m not likely to pick this one up, but am glad to have tried it.
Preparation
Not sure how old this sample is, but I get nothing from this tea. :( I’m not able to detect mango or ice cream. Another black tea that my taste buds don’t get along with.
Preparation
Nuts, this tea was actually pretty good when it came out, but I believe that was a couple years ago.
Yeah, two years is a good amount of time for tea to loose flavor.
I’ll have to check out the Mango Lassi! What is the base?
Just FYI – Mango Lassi is up for retirement, so it may be difficult to get. It’s an herbal though, with chamomile. Pretty tasty but the chamomile is a bit overwhelming (unless you like chamomile, in which case it might not be).
HHTTB
This seems really light for a black tea! I can get the apricot notes, but I’m also getting this aftertaste that is similar to the aftertaste of the ocean, but without the salt. Weird, right?! I get more flavor from it cold than I do hot and the flavor is very light and subtle. It’s very nice, but I’m a fan of bolder flavors.

This has a much brighter lighter taste than the last tea I just tasted! It is almost tart like the skin of a plum and there is an aftertaste like tobacco. This tea is almost juicy. There is a slight dryness after each sip. Interesting!

This tea is striking me as odd. I get only the faintest taste of spice, very muted. I can kind of imagine lavender, but I really have to think about it. It almost tastes like there is cacao in the aftertaste and the longer aftertaste turns a little bitter. I’m betting some sugar would help, but I’d be worried that adding milk would wipe out what little flavor there is.

Not sure how old this sample is, but the coconut is doing that old coconut thing and tasting a little soapy. Beyond that I get a nice lemongrass flavor. A little bit of spice, but not much is getting past the lemongrass. This tea is okay, but it isn’t impressive either.

Wow, I can smell the cinnamon in this one through two layers of bags! That is some strong stuff. The scent is intensely cinnamon once steeped too. There is so much cinnamon that it tastes a little sweet on it’s own. It reminds me of Hobbie’s orange cinnamon tea that has so much cinnamon that it gives me a stomach aches. The most delicious stomach aches ever, mind you, but I have learned my lesson over time and am concerned of the same happening here. I don’t even taste the tea. Just cinnamon. That is what this tea is all about.
Aw, that’s a shame that they’re discontinuing this one. I wish they offered the Hawaiian blends online, I would love to try them!
They discontinued several of them. One in particular deserved to be discontinued, but not this one. Occasionally they will sell them online, you just have to keep an eye on the site.
