516 Tasting Notes
Not too bad, this is a bagged tea but I needed a Genmaicha and I was in Winners and.. well.. you get the picture.
The smell of the bag is really strong, woo, and I can’t see too much rice, but let’s give it a try. I’ll admit I had it a few days ago, but from what I can remember it was actually pretty nice. Not as roasty toasty as I like my Genmaichas, but not bad or bitter considering! Numi is a bagged brand I trust usually, so this will have a good life in my cupboard. Also so handy to slip one in my pocket for an emergency o_o
Can I put this in both my cupboard and on my shopping list? It is way more awesome than I even imaged, holy.
I kept mouthing “OMG” while drinking it at work. mm!
Okay so, chocolate orange in a cup. I’ll just agree with that, because it is. 100%.
I won’t say the puerh is totally missing from the picture, I can taste a bit of gritty earthiness but it is quickly overwhelmed in both smell and taste by a strong delicious dark and creamy chocolate and perfect orange flavour. loooove.
I was sold in the Regina store with my favorite dude gave me a sample of this as a latte. Please do it. SO GOOD.
p.s. finally caved and bought the Advent Calendar! There are 15 teas on it that I haven’t tried, so I think it’s totally worth it for me ^^
I own most of the teas in the calendar, but I got it anyway! I think it’s a good way to get me to retry old favorites!!
I wish I could get it to Ecuador in time to actually use it as an advent calender… I have set my mind to placing an order from David’s Tea, maybe I’ll buy this anyways… Might be a great way to try a bunch of new teas! : )
Maybe like.. save it for your birthday month or something :D
There’s always an excuse to count down a month with tea :D
And yes. Advent calendar ^^ http://www.davidstea.com/featured/the-holiday-gift-guide/our-favorite-holiday-gifts-1/24-days-of-tea
Yum!
Thank you Dinosara , I had a feeling I would be all over this tea. I would love to try it with a splash of milk , but I’m out! Also… definitely prepared this as if it was a black tea by accident. o_o
I blame the coming migraine and the just-waking-up from-a-nap-ness , as I’m a little confusing and in pain, but I just wanted to come on and yum! before I left.
What a great tea, not bitter at all, even though my water was a little hot. Nice and smooth, creamy and mm pistachio, and I’m taking a tiny bit of lime as well. What a treat!
Thank you thank you thank you Dinosara for this generous helping of deliciousness!
I knew I had to have it tonight, despite it being the evening. It’s 9:12 and I should stop steeping but… it tastes so so good.
This great buttery taste pairs with the raspberry flavour, that isn’t milky or creamy per se.. but it’s.. full flavoured and yummeh!
On the first steep the raspberry overwhelmed the rest of the flavours, but as I steep more I get a different balance of leafygreen oolong with just a hint of raspberry flavour. Delicate. Delicious.
3 words.
Tastes like mini-donuts.
I made mini-donuts into one word to be more dramatic. How on earth have I not tried this tisane before? It’s the EXACT taste of minidonuts, and that is awesome.
This tea = not for me.
I can see what it was maybe trying to taste like… but to put it in few words, I couldn’t even finish my cup.
It tasted like bath water. Dirty bath water. wtf?
Anyways, something in the cinnamon.. apple.. crumbly type flavour.. is not working for my tastybuddies.
I’m sorry! I feel like a total traitor writing about bath water and cardboard in my reviews, but I have to say it is totally possible it tasted this way because my first cup of it was with microwaved water. The second cup was when I decided to write the review however, and it was with regular water.. so I don’t know.. but I’m sorry :(
This is the ONLY green tea in the world that I have been able to drink. I honestly can’t get enough of it
So sad! I was looking forward to trying this…but thank goodness hadn’t purchased yet. Thanks for the warning, though I am sorry it didn’t work out for you. Boo. :(
Not much to say about this one, it was fruity – that telltale peach flavour David’s loves so much, but then the flavour fell flat mid sip. I’m not sure if I didn’t have enough leaf or… well – I’m just happy that I got this sample from my coworker. Who “only drinks coffee”. And now has 6 different teas on her desk, mwahaha
So I got this for the $1 straight tea deal,
at first it didn’t taste any different than the Shopper’s Drugmart life brand tea bags I have… and it was overbrewed because I wanted to keep the bag in my cup when I walked back to work.. which was of course like a 5 minute+ walk, teagods forbid..
and whoof it was syruppy jasmine suuuper strong from the overbrew.
But I couldn’t stop sipping it. And it made my tummy feel really really good. And.. I just couldn’t stop. Something about this tea… I don’t know if I can rate it until I (ever) try it again
Got this from LefTea – Thank you so so much!
It went to a good home, let me tell you.
We brewed one heaping perfect teaspoon (if that makes sense), in the Steeper with not quite boiling water. mmm no bitterness, great quality green tea for Metro teas, I’m happily surprised! I love the buttery sweetness of sencha, it’s my favorite by far, in the green family. Yum. Even the boytoy is liking it tonight, and he’s not a green tea fan.
The rose taste and smell is mild next to the sweet syrupy smell of cherries! What a delight. A nice mild taste, if it didn’t SNOW 5 FEET today, maybe I could try it iced. _ Maybe next year. haha!
Note! Do not skimp on leaf!
haha today I used one level teaspoon instead of 1 & 1/2, and it was a watery rooibos-y mess D:
Bad man, almost sour… strange! So yes, that 1/2 makes a world of difference!
They have tea at Winners? Really?
Oh yes. So much tea. Well.. my Winners has a Homesense attached to it but they’re pretty much the same thing, so now I’m thinking it’s on the Homesense side x_x But yeah, crazy brands, sometimes horrible tea.. haha!
I know they have hair stuffs there, but I never noticed the tea before, though my Winners/Homesense is about half an hour away, and there is a standalone Winners a lot closer.
I love bagged teas for their portability, sometimes it’s just not possible to carry around tins and tins of tea with you everywhere!
Absolutely! And there are some nice bagged teas out there that do the trick :3
@Heather – the teas in our store are near the kitchen supplies, there’s also a bunch of different olive oils and other baking stuff around there, try that next time you make a Winners visit! :)
