I did a quick rinse and then steeped for 2 minutes and 30 seconds, which yielded crisp floral notes, like honeysuckle, and a grassy profile. The second steep, of 3 minutes, is still very floral but the sweet notes, which were on the periphery of the the first steep, are now more prominent. The finish has a jam-like quality that invokes images of stone fruits and blossoms, like peaches or apricots.

There’s also a smooth feel which makes me think of almond milk but it’s more of an impression.

I’m not always a fan of the tieguanyin varieties from Verdant, which I find demand more of my patience, but this one is lovely on a rushed first impression. I didn’t need to short steep it to coax out qualities that I like, either.

Despite not drinking this regularly, I continuously stock up on my Coconut Oolong whenever I get the chance. I’m impulsive with my coconut oolongs.

I recently discovered that I love this as an overnight cold steep , which means I’ve picked up the consumption rates a little bit.

Today the taste reminds me of sour coconut water with greenish floral note. Contrarily, I also get macaroons due to buttery quality of oolong. The oolong character gives the coconut flavouring more versatility then it might normally have.

I seem to recall I drank this last time I was writing a hopeless paper of misery and procrastination. I’m a creature of habit, unfortunately.

I’ve watched Buffy season 1-6, but never finished season 7. I want to do that. Right. Now. I want to finish the last six books of Wheel of Time. I want to know how A Storm of Ice and Fire ends. I don’t actually know my green teas very well. I have too many regrets and unfulfilled goals to die by paper tonight!

Fingers crossed that I can invest in some new teas and companies by then so I don’t have to make notes on the same 27 all the time.. I can’t believe that half a year ago I was well over a hundred here. What have I done to myself?

I haven’t been drinking a lot of hot tea lately, but when I do it’s usually this one. Hello, perfection.

OMGsrsly raised a good point as to the kind of mint that is in this tea. I thought it was peppermint but original packaging says spearmint. Maybe the vanilla sweetens it? Of course, it also lists “natural ingredients” and “natural flavourings,” so who knows.

This isn’t a cheap tea, but it’s cozy and I find myself reaching for it over others when I want a “greener” tea. I love all the flavours in here, particularly when the pine/cedar (Christmas tree flavouring!) creeps out. Sometimes there is a spicy finish, which is also lovely. I’ve also enjoyed it hot and cold on equal terms. It’s a shame I’m almost out.

While I probably won’t re-order this right away, it has definitely made the winter purchase list.. unless I find a cheaper option (please let there be one). $17.00 USD for 2oz of tea is beyond me right now.

I can’t drink this western style; some of the flavours come out more sour and astringent than I would like. I’ve tried 170F, 180F, etc. for different periods of time with different measurements, but the results never seem as good as a short-steep gongfu session with this tea.

Mostly due to the time and dedication I like to put into my short steep sessions, this tea has been largely neglected. I’ve had this same big bag for over a year, and it is still plentiful.. or at least it was until I discovered that it’s also passable when cold steeped overnight. It’s not as good as the short steep method but it’s good enough for me. If the citrus notes get a tad sour it just adds to overall refreshing qualities of the cup.

I’m taking a couple film classes right now and I’ve discovered that there are so many movies that I’ve never heard of! Also I’ve learned some special tricks for making myself enjoy silent films (self-deception). I think M (1931) might be my new favourite film however; I hope this short assignment doesn’t make me hate it.

Currently drinking this smoky butter green to help me get me through today. Yay, green tea!

This is also good cold steeped in the fridge over night.

I wasn’t too impressed with this hot, but the mango popped in the overnight fridge steep. There’s a nice combination of ripe and tart mango, with possibly a touch of cream.

When I initially received my teas I didn’t think I’d be sad to finish up all the fruity teas from my Teajo order; instead I learned to appreciate (and love) cold steeping in the fridge. I only wish tea didn’t run out so quickly this way.
