1443 Tasting Notes
Yay my 52Teas order arrived!
This tea was the one I was the most excited about and it did not disappoint. The banana flavour is clear, but not overly fake. The coconut adds a creaminess, but I think I may prefer it without coconut. I’m not completely decided on that. The black base is not overwhelming the other flavours and everything is balanced really well together.
The second steep is still tasty. All the flavours are slightly diminished and I think I’m getting more coconut than banana overall.
Thanks Scheherazade for sending this lovely tea :)
I’m a little wary of 52Teas black teas considering I haven’t been amazed by them, but this tea is quite delicious. The raspberry flavour is clear and the tartness is almost an afterthought. There’s also a definite creaminess to it. The raspberry flavour becomes even more evident as the tea cools.
Yum!
This tea is nothing short of amazing. The tangerine citrus taste is apparent and there’s an underlying creaminess that works so well with the guayusa base. The guayusa adds a certain subtle earthiness to the background. I’m really enjoying this as my morning tea today. I may have to order some in my next Butiki order.
For those unsure of guayusa I highly recommend this as the guayusa taste is quite subtle compared to the other flavours. I quite enjoy guayusa, but with these flavours, I don’t mind that the actual guayusa base is subtle.
Wow, this is an amazing oolong! I’m so thrilled I ordered this.
Again, tonight, I wasn’t quite in the right mood for oolong, but the first sip of this quickly changed that. I haven’t had too many oolongs to date but this one is unlike any of the ones I’ve tried. They’ve all been great, but there’s something different about this one that makes it special. I’m on my first steep and I’m excited to see what subsequent steeps will bring.
Update: I believe this will be a permanent fixture in my cupboard, even if I drink it rarely.
I’m still not completely sure I was in the mood for an oolong, but alas, I brewed this one up anyway.
Initially I only tasted oolong tea, which albeit, is delicious, but I was hoping for more strawberry. A few more minutes passed and as it cooled a very subtle strawberry taste came out. Just enough to taste it in the background of the oolong. I’m quite enjoying this so far. Just steeping a second steep now.
This is a black tea with hazelnut. I feel it’s not quite at it’s full potential though and I’m not sure what to add/I don’t actually want to add anything, because more often than not I end up ruining my tea. I’m not really getting any “cookie” flavour but it’s still a nice cup.
Thanks jessiwrites!
This tea is actually quite delicious, however I can’t truly taste the tea in it. It’s reminding me a lot of Adagio’s Raspberry Patch in that it seems like a lovely hot fruit juice – minus the tartness of the raspberry in Raspberry Patch. Don’t get me wrong, I love that, a lot; but the tea flavour seems to be lost. I’m getting the blackberry flavour and I’m guessing some apple, which tones down the raspberry. I’m not really tasting any spearmint though.
The second steep is slightly more toned down than the first, and I’m thinking I prefer it that way.
Thanks jessiwrites :)
You’re welcome! I thought it was a bit odd, but I think that’s just my reaction to Pineapple and Coconut together! My dad loves it.
