Dark liquor after 20 sec infusion to start, keeping the water temp low with this one and being careful with the brew.
Getting a sourness or tartness on first sip, drying sensation through the whole mouth with longer finish. It’s strong (11g to 150mL,) but not unpleasant. In fact, I’m finding it quite enjoyable. Later steepings lighten up a bit, but I’m balancing that with a longer time.
As said above, it’s easy-drinking and enjoyable. Maybe not standout great but a solid choice.
Preparation
I’m probably halfway through my tin of this matcha, it’s ok but definitely a latte grade. That’s expected as the price reflects this.
I would not recommend usucha or koicha. Grassy and bitter, with a creamy umami finish. Sweetness comes in and lingers after you are done.

Preparation
Wow! Someone told me: “these hit hard for what they are.” Well put, well put.
I steamed on the rinse, and then drank the rinse anyway. I could tell where this one was going. Lots of up front woody notes from the roast, keeping water in the ~205DEGF range.
A great deal of flavor on the tongue, with some astringency/puckering. Hallmark oolong taste comes in after first hit with a little green flushing and a strong/long finish. 8g might have even been too much for my 150mL gaiwan, which is surprising since I am usually into about 10g of oolong with that much water.
Definitely fewer floral/honey notes on this one and more roasty, nutty goodness.
