This is my 3 session with this tea and I must say I like it,but I don’t love it. I notice the texture that everyone is talking about and it is interesting. I am not getting any astringency from it which is a nice surprise from a black tea. It is a very smooth tea and it has a nice morel mushroom taste to it. I get the cinnamon in later steepings. I am happy that I got to try it.

When I opened up my steepster box I was a little underwhelmed with this tea. It smelled like perfume. Sadly it taste like it too. I wanted to give this a chance but it was to floral for me.

If anyone wants to trade for this let me know.

It sounds nice to me but sometimes peppermint gives me heartburn. Otherwise I’d gladly take it off your hands.

I will say that I love Autumn oolongs more because of the butteriness they have to them. In the past with spring oolongs I was never a huge fan, but I can appreciate this one. Nice floral orchid notes from it. This was my sample that I received with my last order. I did 6 steeps of it and it kept producing good tea.

Its been awhile since I have had this tea! This was one of the first teas that I drank that really changed my whole outlook on tea in general. One of the first teas to make me break away from Teavana. I will admit I purchased this tea almost a year and half ago because of Kevin Rose. He said that this was his favorite tea. Long story short this was one of my “first” teas. Yes, I have always drank tea since I was little but never really saw the full range and complexity to it until I had this. It it made me want to buy more and try more.

I’m an oolong girl, and I have had many roasted and charcoal roasted oolongs that don’t measure up to this one. All you get is charcoal, and thats it with other charcoal roasted oolongs. This tea has a caramel fruitiness to it. A sweetness on the tongue that makes me smile cup after cup.
It is also a very forgiving tea. I can’t tell you how many times I let this oversteep, or used hotter water the I should have. This always produce a good cup of tea. Roasted fruitiness:)
Great for a person who is just getting into tea.

Its funny I have never written a review of this tea until now. It was at the bottom of one of my tea jars waiting for me to open it up again. I’m on my 6th steep now, and it is still going strong.I know that this tea is good, but I think I love it because it started me on my tea journey that continues to grow.:)

I have had this tea many times now and I can’t get passed the metallic taste. It gets a little sweeter on the tongue for me after the 8th steep, but I can’t make out anything else. I really have been trying just not doing it for me.

It’s crazy how good this tea is! I don’t know how David finds these oolongs. I have been drinking a lot of black tea lately and have not had an oolong in a while. This is a great tea to get me back into drinking oolong. Really any of Asha house oolongs are. I can’t get enough of them! This is the last of the sample from sampler pack that I had.

Buttery cinnamon goodness:)

I can’t wait to get some of their tea. A little to expensive for me right now but sounds amazing!

Kittenna

Oh yes, they’re on my want-to-try list as well.

BTVSGal

Yes you really can’t go wrong with Asha house. My favorite oolongs is his Alishan. He is a little pricey but well worth in.

Smooth like honey. No astringency. I have been coming back to this one and love to have a cup late at night. Im lucky caffeine does not bother me because this and the Laoshan black tea my night time blacks. I’m careful not to over brew it, I only do it for a minute and its perfect. I get about 6 good steeps out of it.

So I have waited and waited to write this review. Mainly because I have been drinking a lot of black teas lately and some were blending together for me. I had to come back to it after I had paired it with food. I paired it with a chocolate croissant the 3rd time and then with a blood orange the next.
I like this..but it did not blow me out of the water. After reading so many reviews I wanted it to, but It did not do it for me. It is still a good cup of tea..

The first cup for me has a chocolate note to it. With a little oat to round off the finish. The second has more oat and a little astringency to it.

So this is one of the blends I have been eagerly awaiting to buy from Verdant. I know that a lot of people seem to not like Hibiscus in teas. I for one love it! I love the tart and sweetness to it. I find that if you steep it in half of the time it usually will be perfect and not too tart.

I steeped this for 2 minutes and it was great. I have had many hibiscus teas, but with this one I find that the hibiscus is there but not entirely in your face. As it was brewing I could smell the Fennel and mint. When drinking it, I could taste the hibiscus with a licorice backing to it. Since I love licorice I loved it. I could not really make out the ginger or orange that was in the mix, but I know I will come back to it and spend some more time with in. I was just eager to try it..:)

I’m one of the hibiscus haters but glad you liked your tea! :)

Bonnie

Excited to read your review! I am finding the blends a wonder of restrained flavors bent by clever human tea magicians so that we the fortunate drinker can uncover hidden bursts of flavor …little by little!
