806 Tasting Notes
So this is a sample I got from Teavivre. I wasn’t sure if I would like it as I am wary of all things with flowers in the name. Too many times in the past that has led to tasting flower petals in my mouth. I am so glad that is not the case here. My first and only steeping (made it for work in a contigo) tastes like fuzzy peaches. The jasmine is ligt enough that I don’t really notice it. All in all I would say this is a great tea and I would consider ordering it myself in the future.
Flavors: Peach
Preparation
Okay I opened this pack and the whiff of lemon kick hit me like I just walked in on someone baking lemon muffins in the oven. In fact that’s exactly how I would describe the taste as a nice yummy lemon muffin.
Flavors: Cake, Creamy, Lemon
Preparation
Well I added it to my wishlist. I just need to drink my stash down a bit before stocking new teas :D
That sounds lovely. Years ago I got 50 grams of their Ooh La La Lemon. I didn’t like it. Tlo astringent and bitter no matter how I made it.
I remember having previous lemon teas from DT and being disappointed. I was always looking for a good lemon tea from them and now I have found it.
Hehe I knew I was hiding some more of this vanilla, almondy goodness! I didn’t have time before work to steep for the full 4 minutes though. It’s okay because this didn’t suffer too much. Unfortunately Butiki closed some time ago so if you didn’t grab any, you might not be able to get some now. Unless someone is hoarding it I like I was :D It reminds me of my favourite cookie from Mexico.
Flavors: Almond, Cookie, Vanilla
Preparation
Ooh, Mexican cookies. Are they only found in Mexico or is it something you can buy in store where you are?
It’s similar to Imperial cookies but without the red stuff. So it’s a big cookie with an almond vanilla icing on top. You can buy them at the Walmart in Mexico if I remember correctly. The parents always bring me back some when they are down there.
Hmm I haven’t had those cookies but judging by the pictures, they look kind of like Linzer cookies so I can see the appeal.
This tastes exactly like cotton candy. Even has the cotton candy after taste. I really can’t pick up on anything else though. I thought I would but nope. I get sweet cotton candy and if there is anything else going on my tongue refuses to acknowledge it. Makes me happy though because I haven’t had good cotton candy in ages! I’m not sure exactly how long I steeped this cup because I accidentally stopped the timer on my watch… oh well at least it turned out okay :D
Flavors: Cotton Candy
Preparation
Apparently the last time I had this tea it was -42C (-43F) outside. It seems only fitting that now that the temperature is +28C (82F) that I have some fun with this one once more. It’s not my birthday but I love cake if not the calories that come with it. So I threw this tea bag into a cup.
Dry all I could smell was a bit of vanilla. Once brewed I got more of a sweet vanilla smell out of it.The tea tastes like vanilla and caramel with a bit of rooibos at the end. Not quite like toffee but similar. A good cup of tea for any time of the year!
Flavors: Caramel, Rooibos, Vanilla
Preparation
This is one of my favourite teas. It is extremely versatile and does well hot, iced, as a hot latte, mixed in a blender with milk and ice cubes. You really can’t go wrong. It also rebrews well and is relatively cheap (flavourful enough that you don’t need very much to brew a cup).
So I went to David’s Tea yesterday on the way home and picked up some rooibos blends. I also picked up the lemon pound cake oolong because a steepster made it sound pretty tasty. So I hauled the stash I bought to work to help combat the heat wave. Currently it +26C (79F) which is a big relief from the much hotter days earlier this week. I also have a fan in my little area now so I’m a happy girl.
Now for the tea: Dry it smelled like a yummy raspberry baked bar or pie. Wet I’m told from a colleague that I made sniff the yumminess said it smelled like alcohol. You know one of those raspberry blended ones. I don’t drink so I thought that wet it smelled like raspberry syrup the good kind without a lot of sugar.
Tastewise this was definitely raspberry cream. The raspberry came out strong but in the way that you want it to if that makes sense. The rooibos comes out a bit in some sips but not strongly. This was my first cup of this and so far no regrets!Flavors: Creamy, Raspberry, Rooibos
Preparation
I’ve had these white chocolate truffles with raspberry inside. It tastes just like that. I do find this tisane is a bit weak in flavour, but it is very desserty.
Having this wonderful cider like tea because it’s 38C (100F) outside right now. I’m at work and there is no fan and only a trickle of AC coming out of the vent. A guy said he would try to find me a fan. Dying of heat but at least I have some yummy tea!
Flavors: Pumpkin
Preparation
I’m trying to restrain myself from drinking all of this as I still can’t find any tea place that makes something this good for my morning tea. Denying myself is like telling the cat he already had his wet food. It doesn’t work and I want to meowl (cross between meow and a howl). I still don’t know how my cat manages to make meowls but it’s annoying and cute.
Flavors: Creamy, Lemon
Preparation
Well green teas aren’t my tea per se but this was quite a good one. I tasted buttery green peas. Very yummy and definitely recommended. I had just enough time to make a cup before I went off to work. It was +30C already when I left the house.
Flavors: Butter, Peas, Vegetables
Preparation
Looks like it might this week. I hate waking up at 4am and seeing the temp had already hit 29C. It’s 39C right now and at work I don’t have a fan. SO FREAKIN’ HOT!!! bought a lemonade from the cafeteria. I’ll buy some rooibos and cooling teas on my way home.
Yeah. I’ll grab some Oh!Canada and such from DT before going home so I can bring them to work. Staying hydrated is the goal.
