2299 Tasting Notes
Sample from a TTB. It’s super floral and fruity. I could picture this fruit flavor as being plum. I wouldn’t really reach for it, but it’s a decently tasty cold cup of tea. It’s quite authentic, refreshing, and high quality. The cold resteep is very floral but has lost a lot of nuance.
Well this tastes like other cheesecake teas I’ve had in the past, if nothing else. I get a bit of berry and also that tang that isn’t really like cheesecake, but I can see where it’s going. I drink this with milk, and it’s decent, but I’m not super sure a cheesecake tea can be accomplished in a 100% perfect, delicious way. The resteep tastes almost the same as the first. I do find myself enjoying this. It’s better when it’s had the chance to cool.
I know I’m not a lapsang fan, but I bought this anyway since I was ordering all the flavors I hadn’t tried yet. Yep, as usual, the lapsang isn’t even that strong, but it’s too strong for me. I don’t really taste any desserty flavors or anything else. It’s just that flavor that’s a bit too smoky for me, even with milk added in. I shared this cup with someone else who didn’t love it either. I left it in the fridge for two days, and now, actually I do taste something like burnt toffee. It’s sweet and nice but a bit too overshadowed by smoke.
I taste a lovely cola flavor, though definitely not as strong as 52teas soda flavors. It was refreshing and authentic. It’s best quite cold. I didn’t include any marshmallows in my cup, but I sweetened it plenty, which helped bring out the nice cola flavor. The cold resteep is full of cola flavor as well. I’m trying this for the third time now, and I have to say that the soda flavor isn’t as strong as in previous cups. I mostly just taste rooibos with maybe an aftertaste of cola.
Single bag grabbed from a tea box. I taste mostly a sour rose and a pepperiness, maybe also from the rose. I get maybe a little chocolate and some nuttiness. The black tea doesn’t contribute much. I’m drinking this with milk, and it’s okay, but not really my thing. I don’t like that these bags are each stored in their own non-sealed cardboard pyramid.
This has that red jello flavor that I’ve found in some fruity teas before, especially from Teavivre. It works pretty well here. The flavor isn’t too tart at all. Sweetener helps the flavors shine. I can definitely see this flavor as being cranberry. It’s not complex or amazing, but it’s good enough cold. I’ve been making big pitchers of this and filling my tumbler when I leave the house.
This sample from Sips by had under three teaspoons of tea, so I couldn’t even have one large mug of it, which is a shame because I really like it. I taste ginger, cardamom, and black pepper. It’s pretty strongly flavored and great with milk. I really enjoy the balance of spices here. It’s a bit spicy and very satisfying. I’d consider ordering some of this. It’s great to find a hearty herbal chai!
Sample grabbed from a TTB. I’m not a coconut fan, but I actually really like this. The coconut is so fresh and strong and a bit naturally sweet. It can survive a decently long steep. It’s really good! Only nice things to say about this one, and this company is right in town if I want more.
I brought the last of my gallon of milk to work to try this tea. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough milk for the amount of matcha I used, but I made up the difference with some canned whipped cream. The vanilla flavor is really tasty and desserty. It blends perfectly with the matcha base. I had this again at home with the right amount of milk. To be honest, this second time I only tasted matcha with basically no vanilla or any other flavor. It was still tasty, but more savory, and I was bummed to miss the great flavor from the first cup.
This sample from Sips by was only 3 teaspoons, only big enough for one large mug. I really enjoyed the flavor. It is quite cookieish, with the white chocolate and other flavors completely covering up the rooibos base. The almond and other desserty flavors all go together really well. It’s especially good with milk. I may have to order some more. The second steep was strong too. I taste a lightly spiced sugar cookie with an almost fruity icing, but not quite.
