2303 Tasting Notes
Another B&B tea from the TTB! It tastes super strongly of violet. The black tea is all right. There’s not a lot of nuance here, mostly just floral flavor. It’s not my favorite sort of flavor profile, but it’s decent. I wish I tasted some cream. I didn’t get to finish the mug because my cat knocked it over on top of our whole d&d setup.
I’m not a lapsang fan, but I’ll try any B&B tea. The main flavor I taste is lapsang, but I suppose there’s a bit of something else – almost a mintiness at the end of the sip. Really it’s not too overly smoky, which is nice, but I wish I could sense some of the other flavors here.
I don’t usually go for coconut teas, but this one smelled absolutely incredible, so it’s the first one I tried from the TTB. Unfortunately the flavor doesn’t quite match up. I taste a lot of oolong, but it doesn’t taste the freshest. The coconut and fruit are there too, but again, not too special. The added flavors are too light, and the oolong isn’t a great one. It’s still always nice to try a new brand!
I don’t personally prefer this sencha. I just find it too grassy and loud compared to other green teas that blend more smoothly into the background. I steeped this for two minutes as recommended, but it still tastes a bit bitter. This tea smells absolutely amazing. The pineapple flavor is probably the most authentic I’ve ever encountered in a tea – just like biting into a fresh juicy pineapple. I only wish it were paired with a base I enjoyed!
I would recommend maybe either steeping it a little less time – or perhaps use an even lower temp to steep it. It’s a Japanese Sencha so it has a more pronounced flavor (not so sweet and creamy as a Chinese Sencha, it’s more of a distinct green note). I tend to like that about Japanese Sencha, I like the well-defined vegetal note of Japanese Sencha but I do know that not everyone does. My brewing suggestions are developed based upon what I tend to prefer, but you may find that you enjoy it more if you were to go with a slightly lower temperature (I’m not sure what temperature you used here) or if you steep it at 1 1/2 minutes or even 1 minute.
I’m usually good at remembering, but I have no idea where I got this tea bag. This flavor is mulled wine inspired, and I feel like they capture that vibe pretty well. I can clearly taste the tart fruit and some mild spices on top. I liked it better cold. This company only sells a few tea blends, and I’m not sure I’m motivated to try the other ones, but I had a decent time with this one.
I don’t know what Irish cream is supposed to taste like, but this turned out to be a delicious chocolate teas. I really like how 52teas balances chocolate teas. It’s almost as satisfying as a hot chocolate with a pleasant black base and a very authentic chocolate. The second time I had this wasn’t quite as amazing as the first, but still quite pleasant sweetened with milk. This one also resteeps super well.
Got this from a Sips By box, but it looks and tastes so familiar that I think I’ve had it from another company before. I steeped for only three minutes so it wouldn’t get too sour. The flavor ended up quite pleasantly tart with a nice jammy berry quality. The cold brewed resteep was very flavorful as well. I don’t think I’d seek this one out specifically, but if I come across it again, I won’t be disappointed.
I definitely don’t taste sweet potato, but I have to say that this is quite sweet and tasty. It’s mostly fruity, lightly spiced, and a little starchy. I like to add milk. I removed all the marshmallows (there were tons!). The black tea is mild, so this one ends up light, but enjoyable.
I love osmanthus! It has such a fruity, juicy flavor to it.
