Free sample from my holiday order. I think I steeped this a little too long since it turned out somewhat bitter. I taste a bit of almond, but it’s mostly slightly bitter black tea. It’s desserty, but I wouldn’t want it again, even brewed properly. I just wanted more from it.

Although this blend is packed with beautiful raspberry pieces, the toasted rice makes up most of the flavor. Plain, I couldn’t taste much berry at all. Once I added milk, I tasted more fruit flavor, though it was still mild. It also seemed like a bit of a strange/unnecessary combination. The second time I had this, I tried it sweetened and cold, and it was pretty evenly balanced between the berry and the toastiness. I still don’t really understand this combination though.

I usually drink my fruity black teas with milk, but I resisted that temptation so I could try this as intended. I drank it cold, and it was fruity, but not amazing. Maybe it seemed a little thin and metallic to me since I’m used to adding milk? I felt similarly about both servings I had of this.

Grabbed this teabag from a TTB over a year ago – I’m bad about neglecting my teabags! This is really a pretty decent EG. The black tea is hearty and the bergamot is quite strong, which I like. I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy this, but I certainly wouldn’t mind having more.

Sample from a TTB. This just tasted like sort of bitter lightly flavored black tea. I think the mate combined with the black tea to make it taste more bitter than it really is. This was okay with milk and sugar, but I didn’t really like it.

Greek mountain tea is Greek mountain tea…not too much more to say about this one. It’s savory, herbaceous, and tastes like it’s supposed to. It’s not something I would have chosen, but I wasn’t upset to see it in the advent calendar.

The tartness that shows up in some sips here is a little startling. Other than that, it’s pleasantly spiced and nutty. It’s desserty and fun with sweetener and milk. The fruitiness just doesn’t fit with the rest of the flavor. I don’t think I’d buy this again over other similar blends. Some sips are just fruity in an unpleasant way when you’re here for nuts.

Sample from a TTB. The base tea is pretty tasty here. It’s deep and almost fruity. I wasn’t sure what flavor this tea is supposed to be, but apparently it’s grapefruit, which I could sort of see. I’d drink it again if offered.

The name drew me in, so I put aside this sample from a TTB. I taste the berries and the oolong; it’s a pretty straightforward tea. Nothing more to it. The berry is a bit fake, and the oolong is a bit toasty. I’m not an oolong fan, so this isn’t the ideal tea for me.

Hot, this didn’t taste like much. Room temperature with milk, it’s pretty fun! It reminds me of how milk tastes once you’ve eaten all the cereal out of it, just less sugary, of course. I drank a different berry black tea from 52teas the other day, and I love that they both taste great, yet completely different. A different cup I had of this wasn’t quite as delightful, but still a high quality berry black tea.
