In some sips, the chocolate flavoring tastes too much like alcohol for me. This tea is pretty straightforward. It’s rooibos and artificial chocolate. I expect fancier flavor profiles from August Uncommon, so I’m a bit disappointed. It was okay with sugar and milk, but nothing special. I never tasted the nutmeg.

They really like to add that alcohol type touch to a lot of their blends. I’m not really a fan of that.

My sister didn’t like this tea, so she passed it along to me. I made myself a small cup, expecting not to like it either since it’s mostly made of rose. It’s definitely present, but I didn’t notice the sour weirdness too much in the first cup. I had this cold, and it was just light and herbaceous. The rose caught up with me on my second cup. The sourness wasn’t very pleasant, so I don’t think I’ll have another cup.

This reminds me of one of the Adagio green rooibos teas I’ve enjoyed in the past. The main flavor is the green rooibos, which is really nice quality here. The other flavor is a light fruitiness. It’s light and refreshing, though it doesn’t necessarily stand out from other blends. I’d happily drink it again!

This has a pretty nice mango flavor, though as it sits, the green tea takes over a little. I’ve had this tea three times, and I’ve never written more than that in my personal notes. I guess this one just never made much of an impression. The mango was nice and refreshing cold, but it could have been amped up more.

I think I enjoy Teeccino blends more with soy milk than with skim because the soy really helps to cut the acidity of the base. This one tastes pretty rich and chocolatey. It also has a strong supporting coffee flavor. The resteep tasted mostly like coffee. I prefer other Teeccino flavors, but this one is pretty solid. Apparently this one has hot pepper in it? I finished my sample (three large mugs plus resteeps) and never noticed a hint of spice.

drank Rose Earl Grey by Tea Drops

Grabbed this from a TTB. It was shaped like a flower and was so cute! I expected I’d have to help break it up, but it dissolved by itself immediately. It tastes pretty perfumey, but not in a bad way. The flavoring is definitely milder than it could have been, and the black tea itself doesn’t make much of an appearance. It doesn’t taste much like an EG at all. It’s not bad, but much too mild. I suspect that proportionally the little flower was more sugar than tea since the packet mentioned it having 35 calories. I still had to add more sweetener since I’m a monster.

I have a rose Earl Grey on the way that I am looking forward to trying. It is the Fortnum Mother8s Day blend. I can hardly wait!

AJRimmer

Oh that sounds fancy! I’m not a rose fan, but it seems to work okay in EG.

This tea is named sort of accurately. I’m not a lemonade fan, and this tea gives my mouth the same weird sour tangy feeling. I taste the sour lemon and the fake fruity flavor that doesn’t really replicate strawberry. But it’s also sort of murky and unpleasant. I tried it both cold brewed and regular, and after about five cups, I don’t feel the need to give it another chance.

gmathis

I haven’t messed with them much, but I’ve never found an iced-tea-specific variety that I thought was any better than the equivalent regular stuff.

ashmanra

gmathis: The only iced tea specific blends that have ever knocked my socks off were the ones from 52 teas. It was back when Frank owned it, but I know they will be every bit as good under Liberteas for sure, if they are still being made.

gmathis

Racking my brain … I can’t remember if I ever tried a Frank-n-blend.

This is pretty refreshing! I taste the light fruity flavors on top of a decent rooibos. It’s enjoyable cold and not too tart at all. It’s a pretty straightforward blend, but one that I would drink again if offered.

drank Chai by Simple Truth Organic

Single bag from a TTB. The black tea here is pretty low quality. The spices are there, but they’re pretty mild. I prefer a spicier chai. This one is just a little bland, but not terrible.

The strongest flavor here is definitely the coconut. Hot, I found this pretty bland, but cold, it was quite creamy and desserty from all the coconut. This one was a little straightforward for me, but high quality, as always. The coconut may be starting to turn, so I hurried to finish the bag.

Bio

I’m an event planner who always has multiple mugs of tea beside me. Hobbies other than tea include board games, video games, cooking international dishes, science fiction, hiking, jigsaw puzzles, tap dancing, reading, listening to podcasts, and playing with my troublesome kitties.

Favorite flavors: dessert flavors, nutty, melon, mint, strawberry, anything rooibos-related.

Don’t prefer: Smoky, rosemary, savory flavors, floral (other than lavender), plain tea.

I always drink flavored tea, and preferably caffeine-free or black. I’ll try just about anything though! Let me know if you’re interested in a swap!

My ratings are kind of meaningless, but basically
90-100 pretty perfect
80-89 really good
70-79 good, but not the best
60-69 okay, but probably not for me
1-59 varying degrees of dislike
